This year the famous “Biscione” is celebrating its 110th anniversary, and Scuderia del Portello Alfa Romeo will celebrate the event with grandeur, by taking on the track many Alfisti and prestigious cars that have made its history.

The team from Arese – founded in 1982 as en emanation of the Milanese brand with the aim to give continuity to the history of the Alfa Romeo sports brand thanks to the cars and the activities of its Gentlemen Drivers – to pay homage to this important anniversary chose the “Temple of Speed”, a place where many relevant pages of the Biscione’s legend in the races were written, in collaboration with the Track Days of the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.

The event includes the participation of several National and International clubs, with more than 200 Alfa Romeo cars, both historic and modern, as well a huge public: it will be an extraordinary chance for the participants to take part in high speed sessions on the track and also in a parade which will cover the historical Banked Circuit of Monza.

As a great attractive element of the event, Scuderia del Portello will show the rare cars belonging to its “Museo Dinamico Alfa Romeo storiche da competizione” which will be started to offer a dynamic show on the track to the public; the cars will be driven also by pilots who have made the history of the “Biscione” in the races, starting with Arturo Merzario – Honorary President of the Scuderia.

In the afternoon there will take place, only for the guests, the Awards Ceremony “Campioni Alfa Romeo 2019”, the yearly meeting for the members of Scuderia coming from all around the world; the members of the club, together with the Champions in the races of the past, the journalists, the partners and the spokespeople from the Institutions, will be awarded a sculpture-trophy to commemorate the season which has just ended.

The 2020 programs of the Scuderia will be introduced, starting with the new and relevant project connected to the “mobility without barriers at the service of everybody”: actually, among the cars lined-up by the Dynamic Museum of the Scuderia del Portello, there will be on view the Alfa Romeo 1900 TI from 1954, which was taken back to the races by Clay Regazzoni during the Carrera Panamericana in Mexico in 2002, after its participations in the editions of 1954, 1990 and 1991; the car – which had an incident during the last special trials – was restored and prepared with the same driving system for people with an handicap conceived by Clay Regazzoni (in collaboration with Guidosimplex) and it will take part in the 2020 edition of the 1000 Miglia driven by guests with an handicap chosen by the organizers. The initiative includes the possibility – for companies, corporations and institutes who want to include their brand in the message of support to paraplegia, of the mobility without barriers at the service of everybody and of road safety – to “adopt” the car; in addition, they will help with the car’s conservation and will benefit the non-profit organizations which will join the project. In Autumn, the 1900 will furthermore be the main “ambassador” car of the Milano-Dubai, a caravan of cars which, passing the baton from Expo Milano 2015 to Expo Dubai 2020, will cross Italy, will board in Gioia Tauro and will arrive in the United Arab Emirates bringing there the sports legacy of Clay Regazzoni and the message connected to the awareness about the services that are necessary to the people with an handicap in their daily life. The car will be driven by famous poster persons who will be introduced on April 4.

A second extraordinary car which will be shown during this important manifestation will be the Giulietta Spider Sebring from 1956, outcome of another new project promoted by Scuderia del Portello: a “factory” conceived as a scattered workshop made up of a Lombard artisan production chain which, in addition to working on the restoration, the maintenance and the preparation of historic Alfa Romeo cars (both racing and street ones), involves young students coming from the schools of professional training for the artisan work on mechanics, body and assembly for cars with an historical relevance, under the guidance of the expert trainers of the Scuderia; among the missions of the project can be mentioned the research on a system of electrification which is not invasive for the historical vehicles. They will keep intact the original features both in the mechanical and in the body parts.

The 2020 schedule of the Scuderia del Portello and of its members (more than 200 scattered in 19 Countries) includes other races such as: the Monaco Grand Prix Historique, the Nürburgring 24 Hours with a modern Giulia Quadrifoglio, regularity races of the ACI Great Events, the Historic Minardi Day, Goodwood, the Milano Monza Motor Show, the AvD Oldtimer GP, hill climb races, national and international Championships for historic and Youngtimer cars, the Trofeo Formula Alfa – Formula Classic Italia and many others.

The enrollments for the 110th Alfa Romeo Anniversary are open through 21 March for the street cars (unlimited number) and through 2 March for the racing cars (limited number, with a minimum of 25 cars).
