LINGOTTO FIERE, TURIN

FROM JANUARY 30 TO FEBRUARY 2

Scuderia del Portello was a guest at the 38th edition of AUTOMOTORETRÒ, which took place from January 30 to February 2 2020 at the Lingotto Fiere in Turin.

During the fair dedicated to historic cars and motorbikes, the team from Arese, in order to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the “Biscione”, lined up at the entrance of the main pavilion one of its official trucks with prestigious cars belonging to the “Museo Dinamico Scuderia del Portello Alfa Romeo storiche da competizione”: the De Tomaso F1 Alfa Romeo (1961), the 1900 Corto Gara (1952), the GTAm, former Autodelta (1970), the 75 Super Turismo, former Alfa Corse (1988), and the Giulia Giardinetta with body by Giorgetti (1974).

The exhibition of the cars was enriched by an iconographic setting up which illustrated the history of Alfa Romeo in the races, a history of which Scuderia del Portello has been a standard bearer all around the world since 1982.

At the affiliate stand Alfa Romeo Racing Club – Scuderia del Portello, presided over by Fulvio Ballabio and Ennio Mosca (showing the Giulietta ECO Racing and the prototype Alfa Romeo Montecarlo), there took place a very moving moment: as a tribute to Nanni Galli, the historic Alfa Romeo driver who passed away in 2019, the two teams, with Arturo Merzario and the President Marco Cajani, gave Nanni Galli’s partner Lori a trophy celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Tipo 33/2 Periscopica, a car driven by him at the end of the Sixties.

Vladimir Pajevic and Gian Luigi Picchi, who launched their book Alfa Romeo GTA, were guests of the Scuderia, too.

Four pavilions, more than 1000 exhibitors, dozens of drivers, 3000 cars and motorbikes on view and more than 1 kilometre of track gave a big emotion to the visitors during the 4 days of the fair. More than 73,000 visitors rushed to the fair to admire prestigious historic cars and racing cars for rallies, the most high-performance supercars and motorbikes for every kind of ground. This fair, which puts together the vintage collecting and the racing soul, once again showed its strong appeal, not only for the insiders but also for a public more and more varied coming from all around the world.
